• where are you located?

Montrose, CO (about an hour from Telluride). Travel is welcome!

  • what type of photography do you shoot?

I am an Intimate Wedding, Elopement and Lifestyle Portrait photographer.  I shoot weddings with a guest list of around 50 people or less and elopements.

As a lifestyle photographer I shoot families, expecting mamas, newborns and couples.

  • are we a good fit?

I think this is a really important question that a lot of clients don’t always think about when they are looking to book a photographer.  The thing is, that during a photo session you may be spending up to 10 hours with me, say for your wedding day, and we are going to get super close and comfortable with each other.  You will be putting yourself in a vulnerable place and opening up to me.   It’s so important that we share the similar views and that you feel you can trust in me and my opinion when asked for.

So how do you know we will be a good fit for each other…

Do you long to be a wanderer with a love for the outdoors and nature? Are you okay with a little wind blown hair or dirt on your shoes?  Do you love the thought of saying “I do” to your best friend on a sunlit mountain top or a remote forest?  Are you obsessed with your two year old’s tiny toes and need to have them framed on your wall?  Then yes, we would make a great fit!

The clients that are best suited for me, and I for them, are adventurous romantic souls who believe the simple moments in life mean the most.  They are people who appreciate the real and raw moments of their children’s life and know how fleeting time can be.  They are the couple who sees their wedding day as a time to celebrate their love, rather then stressing about guest lists and wedding parties.  They absolutely value photography as an investment made in their present for their future.

Do you love…

                                                                                                                                                                       Perfect! Because I do too.

If these things don’t strike a cord with you then that’s great as well.  There is some other talented photographer out there that would love to fulfill your vision for you.

  • how far in advance should we book?

I take on a limited amount of weddings each year.  If you are having a wedding during the busy season, May – October, it is best to book a year in advance.

For lifestyle sessions it depends on the time of year as well.  During the busy season, May – October you need to book 2-3 months ahead of time.

  • what time of day do you shoot?

Lifestyle outdoor sessions are booked at sunrise or 1 – 1 and 1/2 hours before sunset, so the time will depend on the season. In summer this could be around 7:30pm and in winter this could be at 3:30pm.  Indoor sessions are scheduled anywhere between 10:00am to 2:00pm  and we can discuss the best options for you.

  • how long is the session?

Lifestyle sessions are anywhere from 1-2 hours.

  • what is your editing process?

Every image in your final gallery is custom edited by me.  I include a mixture of black and white photos and color depending on how I feel the image looks best.  I love film and my editing style reflects that, grain and all.  I do basic touchups on images but do not do extensive work in photoshop to majorly change any image.  I keep them as natural as possible with adjustments just to enhance the images.

  • how long will it take for my photos to be finished?

Depending on the time of year, anywhere from 1-2 months.

  • what is your retainer and refund policy?

As stated in the contract the retainer is non-refundable but can be transferable.  There is no refund on any packages unless stated otherwise in the contract.

  • what camera equipment do you use?

Canon 5d Mark IV and Canon 5d Mark III.

  • should I provide lunch or dinner for you at my reception?

you are not obligated to provide a meal for me at your reception. However, if no meal is provided for me, as per our contract,  I will require 1 hour to leave to get a meal for myself. This leaves open the possibility of missed shots as I will not be there to capture all the moments during that time.

  • do you help us plan for our session?

After receiving your registration form I will contact you with any questions I may have in order to plan your session as you imagine it to be. We will discuss time of day, location, what to wear, as well as anything else you would like.

For Wedding clients, before booking,  I will meet with you over coffee to chat about all the important details of your day to make sure that what I offer fits your needs.  I, also,  provide my Wedding Day guide full of good information to help you know what to expect on your big day.

  • what is the best way to contact you?

If you are interested in more information regarding weddings or a lifestyle session please fill out my contact form or email me at stephanie@somethingbeautifulphoto.com and I will get back to you within 48 hours by email.  For wedding clients we will chat over coffee to discuss the details of your wedding!
